Our Mission

Our Mission to End Period Poverty

100% of our donations go directly to Kenya, to support the girls who need it most.

Who are we?

Stop Period Poverty is dedicated to eradicating period poverty in Kenya by providing sustainable, reusable sanitary pads, made by local women. This initiative not only addresses menstrual health but also promotes job creation within the community, empowering women economically and socially.

Why is this cause so important?

In Kenya, period poverty is forcing girls as young as age 11 into devastating choices. Without access to sanitary products, many miss school, suffer infections from unsafe alternatives, or are exploited in exchange for basic necessities - leading to early pregnancy and a cycle of poverty that is extremely hard to escape.

Projects

Re-usable Pads

We create re-usable sanitary towels for hundreds of girls in Kenya, which enables them to go to school and work.

Building a well

We're raising money to build a well in Nakuru. This will provide the girls with a place to wash their re-usable pads and access clean water for drinking and other personal needs.

Supporting Communties

We employ women in the communities to make the re-usable pads and distribute them around schools and neighborhoods.

2026 Ultramarathon in Kenya

Our biggest challenge yet...

We are excited to announce that some members of our community are preparing to take on a WILD challenge by attempting to run an ultramarathon in the heart of the Maasai Mara, Africa. Facing intense heat, challenging terrain, and local wildlife, this will be the furthest any of them has ever run.

The primary objective of this challenge is to raise sufficient funds to build a well for the girls in Nakuru, providing access to clean water not only to wash their reusable sanitary towels, but also a place for them to access drinking water.

We kindly invite you to support us in raising funds for this important cause to help make this vision a reality.
